Two motorcyclists died in separate road accidents on Thursday
Two people have been killed in separate road accidents in Panchagarh and Nilphamari districts.
The incidents occurred on Thursday.
In Panchagarh, one person was killed and another injured when a Panchagarh-bound truck hit them from behind.
The deceased is Raj Kumar, 35, a furniture trader from Boda upazila.
His friend Sukumar got severely injured in the accident, confirmed Boda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Haider Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman.
He said: " Rajkumar and Sukumar were travelling to Panchagarh from Boda on a bike when a truck pushed them from behind on the Boda-Debiganj highway."
"Boda Fire Service station members rushed to the spot and recovered Raj Kumar's body, who had died on the spot," Abu Haider added.
Later, Sukumar was taken to Boda Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
In Nilphamari, another died in a head-on-collision between a tank lorry and a bike.
The deceased is Gausul Azam Babu, 37, a pharmacy owner.
Domar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman said: "A Panchagarh-bound tank lorry and a bike crashed into each other on the Domar-Debiganj road."
Both the vehicles then fell in a pond beside the road where Babu drowned.
The lorry driver and helper managed to flee the scene, OC Mostafizur added.
