Woman dies of dengue in Khulna

She was also diagnosed with heart disease

A woman has died of dengue while undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).

The deceased is Sabita, 40, wife of Haradhan, hailing from Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, KMCH Resident Physician Dr Shailendra Nath Biswas said: “Sabita died early Tuesday, while undergoing treatment for dengue.”

Earlier, Sabita was diagnosed with dengue in Jessore and admitted to KMCH on Sunday for better treatment.

While under treatment, she was also diagnosed with heart disease, Dr Biswas added.

So far, dengue has taken the lives of 25 people in Khulna.

According to Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), 107 people have died from dengue across Bangladesh since January. However, the unofficial death toll is suspected to be over 189, so far.
