The incidents took place in three different districts
At least four people were killed in road accidents in Satkhira, Rangpur, and Tangail on Thursday.
In Satkhira, a motorcyclist died after a BRTC bus ran him over on the Shyamnagar-Munshiganj Highway in Shyamnagar upazila in the morning.
The deceased identified as Bablu Sheikh, 48, died on the spot, while ten others were also injured in the accident.
Minoti Rani and her son, Sandip Roy, who were passengers on the deceased's motorcycle, were critically wounded.
Shyamnagar police OC Nazmul Huda said: “The body of the deceased has been sent to the Satkhira Sadar Hospital. The vehicle was seized but its driver fled the scene.”
In Rangpur, a cow trader, and an assistant of a truck driver were killed when a Sirajganj-bound cow-laden truck collided into a Rangpur-bound bus at Sholagari point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway in Pirganj upazila.
The deceased were identified as Hannan Mian, 33, of Sirajganj Sadar upazila, and Yakub Ali, 20, of Ullapara upazila.
Pirganj police station OC Saresh Chandra said: “Brother of Hannan has filed a case in this connection.”
In Tangail, at least 15 people were injured in a bus-truck collision on the Tangail-Mymensingh Highway.
Abul Kalam, station officer (in charge) of Kalihati Fire Station said: “A Tangail-bound bus collided with a Ghatail-bound truck in front of Kalihati Fire Station, and fell into a ditch after losing control.
“After receiving the news, firefighters rescued 15 people from the scene, and sent them to Upazila Health Complex. Later, four were sent to the Tangail General Hospital.”
