Human chain protest attack on fisherman in Gaibandha

The human chain organized by Upazila Motsojibi Samiti took place in front of the Gobindaganj upazila complex

Fishermen of Gaibandha's Gobindaganj upazila have protested the heinous attack on Shambhu Majhee, president of the Mahimaganj Motsojibi Samiti, during a human chain program. They also demanded exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of  the attack.

The human chain organized by Upazila Motsojibi Samiti took place in front of the Gobindaganj upazila complex. 

During the program, Mukitur Rahman Rafi, Vice-president of the upazila Awami League, Chanoar Hossain, President of Upazila Motsojibi Samiti, Sree Nibash Chandra, General Secretary of Mohimaganj Motsojibi Samiti, Dhulu Mia, president of Gumanignaj Motsojibi Samiti were present.

On October 19, Shambhu Majhee was beaten up after he gave an interview with a private television channel regarding irregularities in leasing waterbodies. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Gaibandha Sadar Hospital.

A case was filed and police arrested four people in this connection, confirmed AKM Mehedi Hasan Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj police station.
