A case has been filed against four alleged rapists after a suicide note was found in the victim's vanity bag at Laltek village in Bishwanath upazila of Sylhet district.

The victim's father found the suicide note and later filed a case against the four, Bishwanath police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Musa said on Monday evening, reports UNB.

After receiving the suicide note, police went on a drive to arrest the accused, whose names were written on the note by the victim, the OC furthered.

However, he did not disclose the names of the suspects.

The gang-rape

According to family sources, on October 6, the victim went to visit her elder sister at Cheragi village in Sylhet’s Dakkhin Surma upazila. She returned home on October 10 and committed suicide.

Police recovered the body and it was buried at the family’s graveyard after autopsy.

According to the suicide note, when the victim went out at night to respond to nature’s call, the rapists picked her up and took her to another place by force and raped her in turns.

The victim identified two of the rapists and wrote their names on her suicide note, said her mother.
