The decision was taken at an emergency meeting by hall provosts
A press release, signed by the institution's acting registrar Parvez Miah, was issued in this regard on Monday, reports UNB.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university’s hall provosts, which was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.
The university also formed a monitoring cell, led by Proctor Professor Paresh Chandra Barman, to monitor the halls in order to prevent student harassment.
The hall administration will allocate seats, against the vacant ones, on the basis of merit. Therefore, no student can stay in the halls without permission from the administration.
Vice Chancellor Askari said stern action would be taken if any student is found involved in harassing other students.
