4 killed in road accidents in Jessore, Dinajpur and Nilphamari

Four people have been killed in separate accidents in Jessore, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts.

One person has been injured.

In Jessore, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident.

The deceased was identified as Rabbi Hossain, 28, son of Rafiqul Islam from Rari Pukur village of Sharsha upazila of Jessore district.

The incident occurred around 11am on Saturday.

Baghachra police station Officer-In-Charge (Investigation) Shukdeb Roy said a truck had collided with the victim’s motorcycle in front of Baghachra cinema hall. Rabbi died on the spot.

Later, police sent his body to Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsy. 

In Dinajpur, a road accident caused the death of two motorcyclists.

The deceased were identified as Shanjib Roy, 15, son of Haridas Roy and Mintu Chandra Roy, 16, son of Goynath Chandra Roy from Chandikali village of Biral upazila of Dinajpur district.

The incident occurred around 11pm on Friday.

Biral police station Officer-In-Charge (OC) ATM Golam Rasul said Shanjib and Mintu were on a motorcycle when it hit a tree. 

They were admitted to M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC), where they died later.

A person named Shohag was also injured in the accident and has been admitted to the same hospital. He is in critical condition.

Shanjib and Mintu’s bodies have been sent to M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) morgue for autopsy. 

In Nilphamari, a man was killed in a road accident..

The deceased was identified as Jahir Uddin, 60, son of Jashim Uddin from Uttara Shashi village of Panchapukur union of Nilphamari Sadar Upazila.

The incident occurred around 8:30am on Friday.

Nilphamari police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter.

The SI said: “A microbus had hit Jahir while he was on his way home on a bicycle.”

Locals then admitted him to Adhunik Sadar Hospital, Nilphamari where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
