They demanded the culprits be brought to book
Students of Comilla Modern High School have boycotted classes demanding justice over an attack on a teacher of the school by miscreants.
They began their demonstration by refusing to attend their classes Saturday morning.
Haidar Ali, a teacher of the school's English Department, was attacked by miscreants near Comilla town's Ashoktala on Friday, the school Principal AKM Akhteruzzaman told Dhaka Tribune.
Later, Haidar's wife filed a case in this regard with the Kotwali police station.
Principal Akhteruzzaman said: "Locals rescued the critically injured Haidar and took him to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
"The students began protesting by demanding justice over the attack on Haidar and at the behest that the culprits must be arrested post haste."
Comilla Kotwali Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Anwarullah: "A case has already been filed over this matter. We will look into it and make sure justice prevails."
