Road Transport and Bridges Minster Obaidul Quader has said Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam will face action, if she is found guilty of corruption.
The Awami League general secretary made the remarks at his secretariat office on Tuesday.
Regarding the allegations that the VC engaged in corruption with the money allocated for the university’s development project, he said: “If the VC is found involved in any corruption, she will face the same music as others.
“She is not above the law. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against her,” the minister added.
While answering a different question, Quader said: “If we take help from China, it does not mean that our relationship with India will be hampered.
“About the Assam situation, the Indian Government has told our government to not worry about it,” the minister further said.
