The victim has been sent to the One-stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)
A woman has allegedly been gang-raped at Dhamrai upazila in Dhaka.
The victim filed a case in this connection with Dhamrai police station on Friday, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dipak Chandra Saha.
Family and police said the victim, 23, a resident of Ashulia, had been looking for a job for days.
In the meantime, she became acquainted with Jasim, a resident of Balitha in Dhamrai, who assured her of securing a job.
Later, they also developed an affair between them.
On September 9, Jasim called her over the phone and asked her to meet at Balitha.
However, Jasim confined the victim to a room where he and his associate Nahid, along with two to three others, violated her.
Hearing her screams, locals went to the spot and rescued the victim.
She was then admitted to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex.
OC Dipak Chandra said: "We sent the victim to the One-stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Friday for medical investigation.
"Drives are on to arrest the perpetrators," he added.
