Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested six people, including the leader of an alleged teen gang, in connection with a murder case in Gazipur.

RAB conducted separate drives in the area and arrested these teenagers with sharp weapons, mobile phones, and Tk8,020 in cash in their possession.

The arrested were identified as Rasel Miya,18, Sourav Miya, 21, Ashraful Islam, 17, Jobayer Hossain, 17, Sheikh Amir Hamza, 19, and Sujon Patwari, 17.

RAB 1 Captain, Lt Col Sarwar Bin Kashem, said: "The leader, Rasel Miya, formed his gang 'Bhai-Brothers' to establish dominant authority in the area."

On September 3, it was Rasel who led the attack on one Nurul Islam, 16, who was brutally killed in conflict between two teen gangs, with previous enmities over holding dominant power in the area, he added.
