Madrasa student missing for 13 days

A female madrasa student from Gopalganj has been missing for thirteen days, since she left home to go back to her madrasa after spending Eid vacation.

The missing girl, Lia Khanom, 12, hailing from Bolakoir village of Sadar upazila, is a student of Madinatul Uloom Mohila Qawmi Madrasa of Sreeramkandi village in Tungipara upazila.

On August 29, Anna Begum, mother of the missing student, filed a general diary (GD) with Gopalganj Sadar police station after failing to establish contact with the girl, since she left home on August 24.

According to the case statement, Lia Khanom after spending Eid-ul-Azha vacation in her hometown, left for her madrasa. She boarded a Mahindra from Gopalganj launch terminal, and went missing thereafter.

Monirul Islam, office-in-charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar police station, said: ''A general diary was filed in this regard. We are trying to locate the missing student.''
