Apart from new textbooks, the government will also give the primary school students Tk2,000 each to make school uniform at the beginning of every year.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain revealed the information at a meeting on improving the quality of primary education in the conference room of Kurigram district administration on Saturday.
“From the beginning of the year 2020, all primary school students will get new books and Tk2,000 to make school uniform as the government is keen to create friendly environment for education,” he said.
As the government is education-friendly, it is giving highest priority to primary education for building a educated nation. Also the schools are being upgraded and modernized, while classrooms are being decorated attractively to raise creativity, added the state minister.
Primary and Mass Education Additional Secretary Badrul Hasan Babul, Rangpur Divisional Deputy Director Abdul Wahab, Additional Superintendent of Police Menhajul Alam and Kurigram district Primary Education Officer Shahidul Islam, among others, addressed the meeting.
Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parvin chaired the function.
