Four killed in road accidents

10 others injured

At least four people were killed, and 10 others injured in road accidents in four districts on Saturday.

In Narayanganj, a nine-year-old boy was killed after being run over by a truck at Nabiganj of Bandar upazila in the morning.

The deceased, identified as Safayet, was a third-grader at Rasul Shishubag Kindergarten School, said Bandar police station OC Rafiqul Islam, adding that the truck was seized but the helper, and driver managed to escape.

In Jhenaidah, an army personnel was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck near the Muktijoddha Complex in Kaliganj upazila. 

The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman (ID No RT 918074, Soldier No 1233291), Kaliganj police OC Yunus Ali confirmed in the afternoon.

In a separate incident in the upazila, at least 10 people were injured when a bus and a human-hauler collided at Barobazar area of the upazila in the morning. 

In Sirajganj, a man was killed when a sand-laden truck ran him over on the Sirajganj-Nalka road in Kamarkhand upazila in the morning.

The deceased was identified as Shaheb Ali, 40, from Mathurapara village in Raiganj upazila, said Kamarkhand police OC Habibul Islam, adding that police seized the truck but the driver, and his assistant escaped after the accident. 

In Bogra, a woman was killed when a bus ran her over at Dhankundi of Sherpur upazila in the early hours.

The deceased was identified as Tahera Begum, 51, from Nageshwari upazila in Kurigram.

Sherpur police station OC Humayan Kabir said a case was filed in connection with the incident, and police are trying to identify the bus.
