The abductor stabbed a schoolgirl and killed her uncle while attempting the kidnapping

A suspected kidnapper has been lynched by an angry mob while he attempting to abduct a schoolgirl in Chuadanga Sadar upazila.

The schoolgirl’s maternal uncle, who tried to save his niece, was stabbed to death by the abductor. The schoolgirl also received knife injuries in the incident.

The incident took place early Saturday.

The kidnapper is identified as Akbar Ali, 32, a resident of Madna village in Damurhuda upazila. 

Police and locals said Akbar stormed the house of the schoolgirl around 2:30am. 

He attempted to abduct the girl, while her uncle tried to foil the attempt.

Akbar stabbed the duo during the incident.

Meanwhile, locals came forward upon hearing screams of the residents of the house and caught Akbar.

They thrashed him heavily, and Akbar died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Zihad Mohammad Fakhrul Alam Khan said: "The duo was taken to Chuadanga General Hospital, but the uncle died on the way to the hospital around 4am."

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Chuadanga General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
