Suspected drug trader killed in Satkhira 'gunfight'

Police said a one shutter gun was recovered from the spot

A suspected drug trader has been killed in a reported gunfight between two rival gangs of drug traders in Satkhira.

The incident occurred in Islampur area on the outskirts of the district town on the early hours of Friday.

The deceased- Munsur Rahman, 45, a resident of Chandipur village in Shyamnagar upazila, was wanted in 14 drug related cases.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Satkhira Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman said a police team went to the spot after hearing sounds of gunshots, and recovered the bullet-riddled body of Mansur.

Police claimed Mansur might have been killed in the gunfight.

The OC further said a one shutter gun was recovered from the spot.
