He said there is no reason for the Hindus to worry about their safety as long as Awami League is in power
Ruling Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the enemies of the country's Hindu community are also the enemies of the nation.
“Those who are your (the Hindu community) enemies and hostile to you are communal forces ... They are the enemies of the state,” he told a rally at Palashi intersection in Dhaka on the occasion of Janmashtami Friday.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges minister, said there is no reason for the Hindus to worry about their safety as long as the incumbent government, under leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is in power.
He said the Bangladesh-India bilateral relationship is at an all-time best. “We’re enjoying the best relation with India,”
He also mentioned that the prime minister will visit Delhi in October to meet her Indian counterpart.
The Hindu community of the country is observing Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna with due religious fervor on Friday.
The day is a public holiday. Different social, cultural and religious organizations have chalked out elaborate programs to observe the day.
