In Bogra, police rescued a teen and arrested her rapist
An eight-year-old girl—whose family delivers milk to houses—was reportedly raped when she went out on delivery in Brahmanbaria.
The incident occurred in the Ghatura village of the Suhilpur union under the Sadar upazila around 11am on Thursday.
According to the girl’s mother, the girl was sent out to deliver milk to one Pavel’s house. There, Pavel locked the girl in his room and raped her. Later, the girl came running back to her mother in tears and told her of the incident.
The accused Pavel, a gas connection contractor, has been on the run since the incident.
The girl has undergone medical tests at the Brahmanbaria General Hospital, said Physician Jinan Reza. “We will know the details once we get the report.”
Brahmanbaria Sadar Model police station Inspector (Investigation) Atiqur Rahman said: “Primarily we have found the allegation to be valid and a case will soon be recorded in this regard. After we receive the girl’s medical reports, we can be certain.”
Meanwhile, police on Friday rescued a 13-year-old girl after a week since she went missing from Bogra’s Dhunat upazila. Police rescued her from a house in Jamalpur’s Islampur upazila and arrested her abductor, who confessed to raping her.
The arrested Ofil Uddin, 25, a father of one, seduced the seventh-grader under the false pretence of marriage and abducted her on August 16. Since then, he has raped her on several occasions, confirmed Dhunot police station OC Ismail Hossain, quoting the suspect’s confession.
A case was filed by the girl’s father. The girl was sent to the Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for medical tests, he added
