'The exact cause will be known after receiving the autopsy report'
A female tiger has been found dead in Chhaprakhali area of the Sundarbans in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat district.
Members of the Forest Department recovered the body while patrolling in the area early Wednesday.
Later, they brought it to the Sharankhola Range office in the afternoon.
The skin of the tigress, which is of about three feet height and seven feet in length, will be preserved after an autopsy, District Forest Officer Mahmudul Hasan said.
Asked if the tigress was killed by poachers, the forest official said: "It is not possible to confirm the cause of the death before getting the autopsy report."
However, he said the tigress might have died due to the old age complications.
