Now the country has become a rice-exporting country instead of an importing one
Bangladesh has seen remarkable success in various development indicators under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has said.
He also said the country is progressing fast in every sector, especially ICT, food production, education, women empowerment, GDP and per capita income.
“Now the country has become a rice-exporting country instead of an importing one,” Shahriar Alam said while addressing a public meeting to mark the inauguration of a four-storey academic building of Arpara Government Primary School in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday as the chief guest.
The Local Government Engineering Department constructed the building at a cost of around Tk86 lakh.
Shahriar Alam further said the present government has given the highest priority to the education sector, as the government has pledged to build a science and technology based education system to take the nation forward and ensure development of skilled human resources.
“Whenever Awami League is in power, the people get the chance to improve their socio-economic conditions,” the state minister added.
Upazila Education Officer Sanwar Hossain and Arpara Government Primary School Headmaster Ayrin Parveen also addressed the meeting, chaired by the school’s Managing Committee President Bellal Uddin.
