Two RUET students went missing on Saturday while bathing in the sea
The body of another student of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) has been recovered, a day after he went missing at sea.
Police recovered the body of Ariful Islam, 21, from Najirartek Point in Cox's Bazar town around 8:30am on Sunday.
Md Zillur Rahman, superintendent of police (SP) of Tourist police in Cox's Bazar zone, confirmed.
On August 10, fire service divers recovered the body of another missing Ruet student, Rafiq Mahmud, 21, from Diabetic Point of the beach.
Both the students were from Cox's Bazar town and had returned home from Rajshahi for the Eid holidays.
SP Zillur Rahman said: "A group of eight friends, including the duo, came to the beach of Balirchar at Laboni Point on Saturday [August 10] morning and played football.
"Later, they went to swim in the sea, and five of them were dragged away by the tides around 10:30am," he said.
"On being informed, Tourist police and local lifeguards rescued three youths -- Ahmed Kader, 21, Imrul Shahed, 21, and Mobashsherul Islam, 21 -- from the sea and took them to a local hospital."
