A garments worker was beaten to death by a few men in a quarrel over money in Dakshin Salna of Gazipur city, early Tuesday. Locals discovered his body in a jackfruit orchard.
The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 22. Police also arrested one Bokhtiar, 23, in connection with the incident.
Gazipur Sadar police station OC Samir Kumar Shutradhar confirmed the matter and said: "Al Amin's body bore several injury marks of blunt weapons, when the police came to know of it on Monday morning. He was a drug addict and had disputes about money with Bokhtiar and Imon of the same locality."
Al-Amin's body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy and necessary action will be taken regarding the matter, OC Samir added.
Al-Amin's younger sister, Tania said: "Al-Amin worked at the Aman textile factory in the Gargaria Masterbari area of Sreepur upazila. He went missing since Monday night."
