Local people recovered the bodies from the Baragang area of the Magban Union in the district in the afternoon

The floating bodies of an unmarried couple who went missing  on July 23 were recovered from the Kaptai Lake in Rangamati on Thursday noon.

Local people recovered the bodies from the Baragang area of the Magban Union in the district in the afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Pranto Deoanji, 18, a student of class twelve at Cambrian School and College, son of Choto Deoanji, hailing from the Patharghata area of Rangamati city reserve market and Tahmina, 16, a student of class ten in Lakers Public School and College in Rangamati, of the same area. 

They were engaged in a love affair for some years.

Locals said the couple went missing on July 23. Later, Pranto’s father filed a general diary with Rangamati Kotwali police station in this regard.

Choto Deoanji  said the both might have committed suicide. 

Jahidul Haque Roni, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station said that a case of unnatural death was filed with the police station in this connection.
