'We are very much concerned about Mishuk, because we don’t know his whereabouts... We don’t know whether he was killed or is still alive'
Father of Mishuk Khan demanded immediate, and safe return of his son, who has remained missing for the last two months.
Mishuk’s father Khan Humayun Kabir said: “We are very much concerned about Mishuk, because we don’t know his whereabouts... We don’t know whether he was killed or is still alive.”
19-year-old Mishuk Khan, a student of Narayanganj polytechnic Institute, remains missing since May 29.
“We suspect, he might be detained by law enforcement officials, “Produce him before the court if he is under the custody of law enforcers for any crime. If not, please release him,” Humayun said at a press conference held at the Crime Reporters’ Association office in Dhaka on Thursday.
He also sought the Prime Minister's intervention in locating his son.
Humayun said that Mishuk, was a seventh-semester student of Narayanganj Polytechnic Institute. He was also engaged with a company in Siddhirganj area. He lived at his sister’s house there.
Mishuk’s mobile phone was found switched off, after he saw off his sister and her family at Shimrail bus stand on Dhaka-Chittagong highway on May 29, he added.
They searched for him in every possible place but in vain. Later, they filed a general diary with Siddhirganj police station, and also went to RAB but did not find any trace of his whereabouts, said missing Mishuk’s father.
When asked whether he had any enemy or saw any appearance of radical activity like militancy, Khan Humayun Kabir replied that his son is a devoted Muslim, but they did not see such kind of signs, and he has no enemy, the father said.
Apart from Humayun, his wife Rafeza Begum, their daughter Sumaiya Akter Ruma, and her husband Kazi Firoz Ahmed were present at the press conference. Family members demanded immediate, and safe return of Mishuk Khan.
