3 killed in Gaibandha, Bogra road accidents

At least three people were killed in road accidents in Gopalganj and Bogra on Friday.

In Gopalganj, two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Chaptai of the Kashiani upazila around 11am.

The deceased were identified as Saddam, 30, son of Tara Ali of the Lohagara upazila in Narail; and Monir Miah, 22, son of Pakhi Mia of the same area.

Quoting locals, Kashiani Police Station OC Md Azizur Rahman said they were mortally wounded after the motorcycle carrying them collided head-on with an oncoming microbus.

Locals rescued them to the Kashiani Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced them dead.

Communication on the highway remained temporarily suspended due to the rescue operation, added the OC. 

In Bogra, a man was killed and three others injured in a road accident at  the Joy Bangla Mor at the Bogra Town Second Bypass Road in the afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Hafizar Rahman, 50, son of Mogla Pramanik of Sadar upazila.

Quoting locals, Fulbari police outpost Inspector Shafiqul Islam said Hafizar, the driver of a three-wheeler died on spot, when his vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming truck.

The injured passengers of the three-wheeler are receiving treatment at local hospitals. Police seized the truck but its driver and helper escaped, added Inspector Shafiqul.
