2 Bangladeshi killed by BSF in Chapainawabganj

One of the deceased's bodies is still on the other side of the border

Two people have been killed by the Border Security Force (BSF) of India at the Wahedpur border under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Saddam Hossain Potol, 25, son of Saifuddin from Monohorpur   village under Durlovpur union of Shibganj upazila, and Royal, 27, son of Asadul Islam from Dovagi village of the same union.

Captain of Chapainawabganj Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-53) Lieutenant colonel Mahbubur Rahman said: "A team, including Potol and Royal, entered India through the border to bring cows. On their way back, BSF members from Nurpur camp shot at them, killing the duo on the spot." 

Locals said Potol's dead body has been returned to Bangladesh, whereas Royal's body is still on the other side of the border.
