He is on a three-day visit to the coastal region
US Ambassador in Dhaka Earl R Miller passed a busy time yesterday, on the second day of his three-day visit to Barisal region.
The ambassador visited historical architecture site of Karapur Mia Bari Mosque in the outskirts of the city, and Jahanara-Israil School and College.
Besides, he also made a courtesy call on Anwar Hossain Manju, MP, at Bhandaria of Pirojpur in the morning.
He later gave an interview with Bangladesh Betar's Barisal station at noon, and attended a dinner with the US Alumnae Association in the evening.
Earl R. Miller, on his first voyage to a coastal region, came to Barisal on Tuesday afternoon by Green Line Waterways' vessel.
SM Ajior Rahman, deputy commissioner, Saiful Islam, superintendent of district police, Moazzem Hossain Bhuiyan, deputy commissioner (south) of Barisal Metropolitan Police, welcomed the US diplomat at the Barisal river port.
Later, on Tuesday afternoon, he paid a courtesy visit to Divisional Commissioner Ram Chandra Das, and Deputy Inspector General of police Shafiqul Islam.
He is scheduled to leave the city for Dhaka by air, on Thursday.
