They also had three other demands

Students of Barisal Nursing Training College and nurses working at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in Barisal have continued their protests since Saturday to press home a four-point demand, including a separate nursing cadre in the Bangladesh Civil Service.

Protesting nurses of the Bangladesh Basic Graduate Student Nurses Association (BBGSNA boycotted their classes and professional duties to hold rallies on the SBMCH campus for the third consecutive day on Monday.

The three other demands of the nurses include: Increasing the monthly internship allowance from Tk6000 to Tk20,000 and the monthly stipend from Tk2,500 to Tk5,000, higher posts for more experienced nurses at all medical colleges, and scrapping the new curriculum.

Barishal unit BBGSNA president Abdullah Al Mamun said nursing students across the country have joined their protest.
