A man took his own life after reportedly killing wife in Sonargaon upazila, Narayanganj on Tuesday night.
The deceased, Bachchu Mia, 60, a grocer, allegedly strangled his wife, Muktaja Begum, 55, to death over a family dispute.
According to locals, Bachchu was addicted to gambling causing regular marital dispute between the couple. On Tuesday night, Bachchu reportedly strangled Muktaja to death using a pillow. Later, he hanged himself from the ceiling.
Sonargaon police station OC Moniruzzaman said: "We sent the bodies to Narayanganj General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. The couple’s son, Sharif Mia filed two cases in the incident.”
