The human chain was held in front of Satkhira press club

A human chain was arranged to protest the brutal attack on Shaheen, a poor van driver as well as grade seven madrasa student in Satkhira, and demanding the arrest of the attackers.

The human chain was held in front of Satkhira press club at 10 am under the banner of Satkhira district citizens committee.

Satkhira press club president Professor Abu Ahmed, general secretary Mamtaj Ahmed Bapi, Citizens Committee member secretary Ad. Abul Kalam Azad, senior journalist Kalyan Banerjee, BSD leader Ad. Azad Hossain Belal, press club general secretary M Kamruzzaman, citizens committee member ABM Selim, Advocate Al Mahmud Palash, landless leader Alani Khan Babul, development activist Farida Aktar Beauty, Madhab Chandra Datta, and others spoke at the human chain presided over by the convener of the citizens committee, Anisur Rahman.

The speakers said, "Attackers cracked the head of van driver Shaheen, who is the son of Haidar Ali Morol of Mangalkot village in Jessore's Keshabpur upazila, and fled with his van near a jute field when he was en route to Satkhira's Patkelghata with some gentlemanly passengers. 

He is currently under treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a dire condition. 

The speakers also raised questions about the police's role as no suspects have yet been arrested, even after the passage of three days since the incident. 

At this time, the speakers raised a strong protest against the brutal attack on Shaheen, and demanded the arrest, and  trial of the perpetrators.
