A housewife was killed reportedly after rape at her house in Naogaon’s Niamatpur upazila, according to police.
Police recovered the body from the bedroom of their house at the upazila's Panishail Dighirpara village on Sunday morning.
Deceased Ropela Begum, 35, wife of Anisur Rahman, used to live at their house with their son and daughter as the husband works at a garments factory in Dhaka, said Niamatpur police station OC Nurul Huda.
The woman went to sleep after having dinner on Saturday night. The following morning, her daughter found the body in a pool of blood in her bedroom, said her son Raju.
Being informed, police went to the spot and found the body without any cloth on her bed, said the police officer, adding: "Primer investigation refers that she was raped before being killed."
The body was sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, after primary interrogation, police released the victim's son, her sister-in-law Julekha and local UP member Mozammel Haque, said the OC.
Process to file a case will be initiated after the victim's husband returns home, he added.
