Around 263 students are in danger, as they have been attending classes in a run-down school building of Kagmari Primary School, in Bhuapur upazila  of Tangail .

The school building was constructed in 2011, and was declared abandoned in 2015, according to the Upazila Education Office.

‘’We are forced to take classes in this risky building as we don’t have enough space to teach our students. Many students are not attending classes regularly as they are fearing that the building may collapse any day. The number of students is declining everyday, ‘’ said Dilara Afroz, the headmistress of the school.

We have sent letters to the authorities for the construction of a new building, she also added.

When contacted, Upazila Education Officer Sahneaz  Parvin said: ‘’I didn’t know the building was declared abandoned, and will take necessary steps to construct a new building after discussing the matter with the authorities concerned.‘’
