The fire broke out at a sewing factory named Etashia Interlining Limited at around 7:30 am, said Pranto Nath Saha, assistant director of Comilla Fire Service and Civil Defence.
"The fire inside the factory is now under control. However, there is heavy smoke inside. Firefighters are still working. No deaths or injuries have been reported so far."
When the smoke emanating from the cotton, thread, and sewing material is under control, we will enter the factory, he said.
