Police firearm goes missing in Khulna

Digholia police station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Nazmul Haque's firearms went missing when he was on duty for Dumuria upazila election in Baniakhali area

A policeman's pistol and 12 rounds of bullets went missing in Baniakhali area of Khulna's Dumuria upazila on Tuesday. 

Digholia police station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Nazmul Haque's firearms went missing when he was on duty for Dumuria upazila election in Baniakhali area.

At around 2pm Nazmul went outside keeping his firearms in a bag inside a room of the pole centre, Baniakhali Government Primary School. Returning to the room after a while, the ASI found his firearm missing, said Dumuria police station acting OC Aminul Islam.

Police detained the school's clerk Sandip Kumar Saha and construction worker Bulbul for interrogation.

ASI Nazmul Haque is going to be suspended for losing his firearm, the acting OC added.
