Cop held with 10,000 yaba pills in Chittagong

A case has been filed against the arrested policeman

A sub-inspector (SI) has been arrested with 10,000 yaba pills in Chittagong city. 

Siddiqur Rahman was posted at the traffic department (Bandar Zone) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).

He was arrested during a joint drive of the Counter Terrorism Unit and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in CGS Colony of the city's Agrabad area, around 7:30pm, on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner of CMP's Counter Terrorism Unit, Md Shahidullah, said: "Siddiqur was arrested following a drive, when 10,000 yaba pills and Tk80,000 cash were recovered from his possession."

A case has been filed against the arrested policeman in this regard.

According to CMP sources, two weeks back, Siddiqur was posted to the CMP's traffic department (Bandar Zone) from Shikalbaha police outpost in Karnaphuli upazila.
