9 killed in road accidents in 7 districts

The accidents took place on Friday and Saturday

At least nine people were killed in separate road accidents in seven districts on Friday, and Saturday.

In Narayanganj, two people died when a sand-laden tractor fell into a roadside ditch at Pitalganj area in Rupganj upazila on Saturday.

The deceased are tractor driver Naim, 20, who died on the spot, and his assistant Chhattar Mia, 40, who died on his way to a hospital.

In Gopalganj, a motorcyclist died after losing control, and hitting a pole on  the Dhaka-Khulna Highway on Saturday.

The deceased Liton Molla, 23, died at Gopalganj General Hospital.

In Madaripur, an old woman died when a motorcycle hit her while she was crossing the Rajoir-Noyanagar road in Rajoir upazila on Saturday.

The deceased Saleha, 65, was taken to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared her dead.

In Bogra, van driver Abdul Hannan, 45,  died after being struck by a truck on Bogra-Dhaka Highway in Shajahanpur upazila.

Eye witnesses said, the truck hit the van which was standing still at the side of the road.

In Jhenaidah, a six-year-old died after a auto-rickshaw hit him in Ghugri area of Moheshpur upazila.

The deceased Junayed Hossain, 6, died after he was taken to a local hospital.

In Kushtia, a man was killed under the wheels of a truck on Kushtia-Ishurdi Highway in Bheramara upazila.

The deceased was identified as Nahrul Islam, 38, a local businessman of Taragunia village in Daulatpur upazila.

In Panchagarh, two people were killed, in a collision between a truck and a motorcycle on the Panchagarh-Tetulia Highway, on Friday. 

The deceased were identified as motorcycle riders, Manik Hossain, 25 and Nayan Islam, 22.
