Over 100,000 law enforcers will perform their duties during the festival across the country while more than 10,000 law enforcers have been deployed in Dhaka to maintain security.

During the festival, mosques, prayer grounds, important areas, and establishments will be kept under surveillance, reports BSS.

“More than 10,000 law enforcers have been deployed in Dhaka to maintain security.

Addressing the arrangements, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said: "Police members are patrolling different streets, and important points."

"The capital city will become empty during Eid, thus additional security measures will be taken to provide security at residential areas, banks, financial institutions, and gold shops to avoid any untoward incident," he added.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary has already given directives to police officials about the security measures.

He said: "We will provide security to shopping malls, and markets so that people can shop for their desired products till midnight. Important points on the highways have been brought under closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance.

"Adequate police personnel have been deployed at entry, and exit point of every bus terminal, and also on the roads and highways to ensure smooth vehicular movement. Police are also checking the licenses of drivers, and fitness certificates of vehicles before they start their journey to different parts of the country from the terminals."

"Police will take measures against taking passengers on the roof of buses, and excess passengers in vessels on river ways.

"Police is also working to provide stringent security measures at Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj, where the country’s largest congregation will take place," the IGP added.

Echoing the same, Kishoreganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Mashrukur Rahman Khaled said: "Four tier security measures will be taken at Sholakia Eidgah Maidan. Over a thousand law enforcers will be deployed to maintain security."
