The minister said journeys this Eid will be smooth

Journeys of homebound people, this Eid, will be “relaxed” said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

The minister stated this during his visit to the Mohakhali inter-district bus terminal on Saturday morning.

He said: “This relaxed travel will continue until Eid and there will be no difficulties in returning to Dhaka.”

The road and highway condition is better and there is no reason for anyone to face a traffic jam, he added.

Fearing traffic jams could result from rain, he said, “Rain may cause obstructions for commuters going through Dhaka to Gazipur. Otherwise, it [journeys] will be uninterrupted.”

"Rain may slow down the speed of vehicles, but there will be no traffic jams, or harassment of passengers.”

During the visit, Quader talked with some home-bound travellers, and bus counter managers, and listened to their opinions.

Earlier, Quader had visited Dhaka's Gabtoli bus terminal to inspect the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority’s mobile court on Friday morning and made similar statements.
