Sadiq is currently a student of rural development and natural resource management at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences
Sadiq Zafrullah, a Bangladeshi student at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, has been awarded with the prestigious Global Swede diploma by Minister for Foreign Trade Ann Linde, at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm.
Sadiq, who is studying rural development and natural resource management at SLU, won the award for 2019 as the top SLU student, according to the university's website.
The award is given to a student who has excelled in fields related to innovation and entrepreneurship.
"Global Swede is a way of saying thank you to some of our most innovative, international students. They play a big part in our international relations, and I hope that the award encourages continued exchanges and relations with Sweden," Ann Linde said in Stockholm.
Sadiq has worked with the International Labour Organisation in Thailand and represented SLU at Agrinatura general assemblies.
During the ceremony, 26 students received a Global Swede diploma. The event was arranged, for the ninth year in a row, by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Institute.
