Rain likely to increase across Bangladesh

This might cause day and night temperatures, nationwide, to fall slightly

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted increased rain across the country in the next 24 hours.

Bangladesh is likely to experience rain or thunderstorms—along with temporary gusty and squally wind—starting at 9am Wednesday and ending at 9am Thursday.

“Rain or thundershowers—accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind—is
likely to occur in the: Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi division; and at one or two places
 in Khulna, Barishal, and Chittagong.

“These areas will in see an increase rain activity,” confirmed a met office bulletin issued Wednesday morning.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country because of the rain, the bulletin further stated.

The existing mild heat wave sweeping over Khulna and Dhaka divisions—and the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Chandpur, Fani, Noakhali, Rangamati and Patuakhali—may abate at some places.

The highest temperature recorded on Tuesday was  38°C in Jessore in Khulna; and Wednesday’s minimum temperature is expected to be 20.4°C at Netrokona in Mymensingh.

The sun on Wednesday will set at 6:37pm.
