The police has arrested a hawker named Md Bahar, 24, on suspicion of raping a seven-year-old girl in Feni.
He was arrested in Purbo Shilua village of Chhagalnaiya upazila on Saturday morning.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhagalnaiya police station, Sudip Rai, said: "Bahar lured the girl with chocolate and took her to a newly-constructed shop, where he raped her."
The OC added: "The court will declare the three-day remand dates on Monday and till then has ordered for Bahar to be kept in jail."
The child has been sent to Feni Modern Sadar Hospital to undergo medical tests. Later, she will testify in court according to article 22.
