No one has been arrested yet
A mother and her disabled son have mysteriously died in Basila village of Naldanga upazila, Natore.
Confirming the matter on Wednesday, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqur Rahman of Naldanga police station said: "The mother was choked to death, while the child's dead body was found in a nearby pond. After investigation and autopsy, the reason behind their death can be confirmed."
The deceased were identified as Sharmin Akter, 26, wife of Mahmudul Hasan Munna hailing from Basila Uttarpara village, and their two-year-old son Abdullah.
Mahmudul works in Dhaka, and Sharmin along with her son had resided at her in-laws. Early on Wednesday during sehri time, Sharmin's in-laws found her dead in her room, and Abdullah was missing.
Later, Abdullah's dead body was recovered by police.
Amzad Dewan, UP chairman of Brahmapur, said: "I talked to Sharmin's mother. Last night she had talked to Sharmin over the phone and nothing seemed suspicious. Her mother also stated that there was no reason to suspect the in-laws, as Sharmin had good relations with them.”
"Her mother has demanded proper investigation and justice for the murders,” he said.
The OC added: "No one has been arrested yet, and a case will be soon filed on this."
