A 15-year old madrasa student was reportedly raped by a man in Savar on Monday
Police arrested the accused Shah Alom, 60, who was a night guard at the Genda area of Savar sadar.
According to the police and the relatives of the victim, the teenager is a student of a local madrasa in Jhenaidah. She was visiting her brother's house in the Genda area of Savar on May 4.
On Monday morning when the girl's family left for work, Shah Alom tricked her into going inside the house and raped her.
The neighbours then rescued the girl handed Shah Alom to the police.
After confirming the incident, Officer-in-charge AFM Sayed said: "The girl will be sent to one-stop crisis centre of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and a case will be filed in connection with the incident."
