Sale of the advance bus ticket will continue till May 31

Private bus operators will start selling advance tickets on long routes for Eid-ul-Fitr on May 17 while railways authorities will start on May 22.

Sale of the advance bus ticket will continue till May 31, reports Bangla Tribune.

The tickets of over 500 bus operators will be available at the bus counters in the city’s Gabtoli, Shyamoli, Kallyanpur, Mazar Road, Kalabagan, and Mohakhali bus terminals, informed Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners’ Association Chairman Ramesh Chandra Ghosh.

Additionally, the sale of advance bus tickets will begin on May 17, said Ramesh, adding: “Ticket sales will start at 6am on May 17 for journeys on May 30,” he said.

Advance rail ticket

Bangladesh Railway will start selling advance Eid-ul-Fitr train tickets on May 22 and continue until May 26.

Advance tickets will be sold at five different spots other than Kamalapur Station.

Md Mofazzal Hossain, secretary of Ministry of Railways, stated this yesterday.

He said: “The availability of tickets at other spots will reduce the hassle for passengers and they will not have to wait in line for hours. 

“The government has made many developments in the railway sector and hopefully passengers will receive better services.”

Moreover, this year 50% of the tickets will be sold on a mobile app.

The secretary said: “The expected date for Eid is June 5. So, tickets for May 31 will be available on May 22, for June 1 on May 23, for June 2 on May 24, for June 3 on May 25, and tickets for June 4 will be available on May 26.”

“The advance return ticket sales will start on May 29 and continue until June 2,”he added. 

Passengers may purchase return tickets for June 7 on May 29, for June 8 on May 30, for June 9 on May 31, for June 10 on June 1, and for June 11 on June 2.

There will be six special trains for Eid, which will travel from Dhaka on different district routes, starting from June 2 and operating until June 4. The trains will return to Dhaka from different districts on dates—June 6 to June 12.
