Tania gang-raped and killed on moving bus on May 6

People from different walks of life have staged protest in Rajbari demanding justice for Shahinur Akhter Tania, who was raped and murdered on a bus.

Abdullah Nursing Institute students, teachers, social activists, footballers and students of various schools brought out processions in the district on Sunday.  

Shahinur Akter Tania, a nurse of Ibn Sina Hospital was, gang-raped and killed on moving bus on May 6. 

Rajbari Mahila Parishad President Laili Nahar, Vice-President Shamsunahar Chowdhuy, acting general secretary Dr Purnima Dutta, teacher Anjuman-Ara, social activist Sriti Islam and footballer Lily Akhter, took part in the protest. 

Addressing the protest rally, District Commissioner Shawkut Ali said everyone involed in the crime against madrasa student Nusrat and nurse Tania have been arrested. 

He said the arrestees will be tried as per the law of the country and given proper punishment.
