Shah Alam was accused of shooting a 35-year-old woman to death
A man, who was accused of shooting a woman dead, has been killed in a “gunfight” with police in Chittagong.
Shah Alam, 30, was killed in the incident that took place early on Sunday.
Nezam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Bakalia police station, said four policemen – including himself – were injured in the “gunfight.”
He said: "We conducted a drive to arrest Shah Alam. Sensing our presence, Shah Alam and his associates opened fire at us.”
In retaliation, police fired back, which left Shah Alam injured while the others managed to flee the scene.
He was taken to CMCH, where the doctor pronounced him dead, the OC added.
On May 11, Shah Alam entered the house of 35-year-old Bubli Akhter in Barjaghona Madina Masjid area and shot her.
Later, Bubli was taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), where the doctors declared her dead.
