2 killed in Magura, Savar road accidents

Five people have also been injured in the Savar accident


Two people have been killed in separate road accidents in Savar and Magura.

In Savar, a woman died on the Dhaka-Aricha highway, on Saturday morning. 

Amena Akhtar Himu, 27, was killed when a staff bus carrying employees of Hatil lost control and fell into a ditch, police said.

Five people have been injured in the accident.

The Fire Service took the injured to Enam Medical College and Hospital.

Confirming the incident, Savar Model station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Sayeed said: "Amena’s body has been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. A case will be filed in this regard."

In Magura, a truck assistant was killed in a road accident on the Magura-Jessore highway.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday. The deceased is Farid Hasan, 30.

According to Shalikha police station Officer-in-Charge, Tariqul Islam, a Jessore-bound truck collided with a standby truck near Notunhat area under Shalikha upazila, causing the standby truck to hit a nearby tree. 

Farid, who was inside the truck, was critically injured, and later died while undergoing treatment at Magura Sadar Hospital.

A case has been lodged with Shalikha police station in this regard.
