In Comilla, two workers were killed and two others were injured
At least seven people were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in four districts.
In Gopalganj, a man was killed after a bus hit a pickup van from behind on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
Sheikh Mezbah Uddin, 38, a former Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist from Gopalganj sadar, died on the way to Khulna hospital after a bus of Hamim Paribahan rear-ended the pickup around 11:40 on Sunday.
The accident took place in Tilchara area of Kashiani upazila, confirmed Md Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Vanga highway police station in Faridpur.
The driver and assistant of the pickup were also injured in the accident, he added.
In Kishoreganj, a man was killed after his motorcycle collided head-on with an oncoming truck on the Kishoreganj-Chamta road in front of Jangalbari Women's College, around 10 am on Thursday.
Aual Mia, 35, of Shimulbak village, Itna, was declared dead when after he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Confirming the incident, Karimganj police station OC Mominul Islam said the collision occurred when the motorbike tried to overtake an auto-rickshaw and lost control.
In Comilla, two workers were killed and two others were injured in a truck accident on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Falgunkara in Chauddagram, in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased are Md Momtaz Mia, 50, of Mainkarhat village in Bhola Sadar upazila, and Bachchu Mia, 40, of Dighaldi village in the same upazila.
Chauddagram police station OC Abdullah Al Mahfuz said: "A Chittagong-bound truck, carrying generators, was coming from Dhaka when it lost its bearings and turned turtle in Falgunkara area. The two workers died on the spot after getting crushed by the generators."
The injured have been admitted to a local hospital, he added.
In Bhola, three people were killed and two others injured when a truck overturned.
The accident occurred at Char Newton village at Char Fasson upazila on Saturday evening.
The deceased are truck driver, Abu Jaher, 25, from Nilphamari district; his assistant, Anwar Hossain,15, of Char Newton village; and a passenger, Jahidul Islam Shakib, 15, of Char Madras village.
Shamsul Arefin, officer-in-charge of Char Fasson police station, said: "The accident took place in the Beribadh area of the village when the driver of the goods-laden truck lost control over the steering and the vehicle toppled over after veering off the road, leaving the driver and his helper dead on the spot."
The other person, who was hitching a ride, died after being rushed to a nearby hospital, the OC added.
