Grocer found dead under a bridge in Jessore

Police suspect he was murdered and the body was dumped from the bridge at night

Police have recovered the body of a grocer in Sharsha upazila of Jessore.

The body was found in the water under Amrakhali bridge of the upazila around 8:30am on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, 40, a resident of the Pathbari area in Benapole.

Sharsha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) M Moshiur Rahman said: "After being informed by locals, a team from the police station went to the spot and recovered the floating body."

He added that police suspect the grocer was killed by unidentified assailants, who then dumped the body from the bridge at night.
