The yaba pills were found in an abandoned boat
Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered over 200,000 yaba pills worth Tk6 crore in Teknaf upazila, Cox’s Bazar.
During a raid, early on Friday morning, a BGB team found the massive cache of the yaba pills in an abandoned boat on the Naf river—near Jhimangkhali of Whykong union—in Teknaf, around 4am.
Speaking of the raid, BGB 2nd Battalion Commander Lt Col Faishal Hasan Khan said: “Early in the morning on Friday, a BGB patrol team found 200,000 yaba pills in an abandoned boat near the seventh sluice gate area of the Naf river — near Jhimangkhali. The seized yaba pills were deposited in the Teknaf Battalion reserve."
The BGB commander added that the pills would soon be destroyed, in the presence of: high-ranking officials, non-military authorities, representatives of the Department of Narcotics Control, eminent locals, and members of the media.
